Take These With You

The two prompts from the session

Copy these and use them on your next tender. Both are about understanding the document, not writing your bid for you.

Can I actually bid on this?

Here is a tender document. Act as a procurement analyst and tell me:
1. The mandatory requirements a bidder must meet to be eligible.
2. Any certifications, registrations, or past-performance proof it asks for.
3. Anything that would automatically disqualify a bidder.
4. The submission deadline, format, and how it must be delivered.
Quote the exact wording from the document for each point. If something is unclear or missing, say so rather than guessing.

That last line matters. AI will confidently invent a requirement that is not in the document, and in procurement that is expensive. Make it show you the actual words.

How is this actually being scored?

From this tender document, extract the full evaluation criteria. For each criterion give me:
1. The exact wording as written in the document.
2. The weight, points, or percentage available.
3. Whether it is scored on price, technical merit, experience, or something else.
Then tell me what share of the total score is price versus everything else.
Quote directly. Do not infer or estimate any number that is not stated in the document.

Once you can see that price is thirty percent and technical merit is seventy, you stop competing on the wrong thing.

How Buyers Find You

The four codes that decide whether buyers can find you

Knowing these exist is free. Picking the right ones for your business is judgment. Go too narrow and you are invisible. Go too broad and you drown in notices that have nothing to do with you.

GSIN

Goods and Services Identification Number

How the Canadian government labels what it is buying. Match yours and the right tenders reach you.

UNSPSC

UN Standard Products and Services Code

The global equivalent, used across procurement systems well beyond Canada.

NAICS

North American Industry Classification System

What industry you are in. Used for eligibility, set-asides, and statistics.

NOC

National Occupational Classification

Job categories. Matters most on professional services and staffing bids where you price by resource type.

Fifteen proposals. Zero responses.

That was my starting point. Not one rejection, not one acknowledgement, nothing at all. The work was not the problem. The proposals were never read. If any part of that sounds familiar, let's talk.
